A HOME AT LAST
The Manchester Arts Center actually does have a home this time. This afternoon a contract was signed between the Manchester Municipal Arts Commission and Roy Lee Roberts, Jr. of Murfreesboro for the purchase of the building at 128 E. Main Street in downtown Manchester, next door to Baker Brothers Drugs. The commission is eagerly looking forward to the renovation of the building which will begin as soon as the closing date of May 9.
This community has actively supported the Arts Commission as we explored every possible avenue for a new home. We have had property donated, looked at property at the 114 exit on Hillsboro Blvd., at a building on Bushy Branch Road, a building on McMinnville Hwy., and finally at this property. Each time we thought the deal would go through, but we could never meet on the price. This time we had a meeting of the minds—perhaps someone was watching over us before.
Through it all many of you supported us with encouragement, finances, and moral support. Each and everyone who expressed interest and concern are appreciated. Although Dec.3, 2006 seems eons away, it has only been a year and three months.
And now a new beginning!

Many of the youth in the show were also involved in going on with Charlotte's Web after the Arts Center burned. These young people have been really eager to once again do a show. Open auditions were also held.
The show is being directed by three Teen Actors Guild members Camiren Hamilton, Rachel Garrard, and Josh Brandon. They will be working with the choreography and music direction of Jackie Masiella and Warren Gore. This will give the teens an opportunity to work with more experienced theatre people, as well as experience in working with youth.
Please join us for this show. All involved will be working hard to make it a success.

Once again, Missoula Children's Theatre will be in Manchester! In cooperation with the Air Force Community Activities Group at Arnold Air Force Station, the Coffee County School System and the Manchester Arts Commission, Missoula Children's Theatre will hold a free week long drama workshop and production in June.
